Mindset partnered with the USAID Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Activity (MELA) to implement a data verification exercise for the interventions and indicators of USAID Jordan's Business Growth Activity (BGA) – a five-year project focused on boosting Jordanian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with the aim to improve productivity, competitiveness, and employment, especially for youth, women, and people with disabilities.
As part of the Data Verification Team, Mindset conducted a Data Quality Assessment (DQA) of BGA’s data from 200 SMEs across Amman, Zarqa, Madaba, and Irbid. This process involved retracing individual data points to their source, verifying supporting documentation, and confirming accuracy according to USAID’s data verification standards, with the aim to identify limitations and help USAID understand the impact of BGA on the competitiveness of Jordanian start-ups and SMEs, focusing on investments, sales, and exports. The data verification ensured that all collected data was consistent, relevant, and complete, ultimately supporting efforts to enhance Jordan’s private sector capacity.
