Mindset was contracted by UNICEF to conduct the Frequent Monitoring of Syrian Families with Children (6 Waves) Panel Research project, which aimed to monitor and understand the living conditions, school enrollment trends, and vulnerabilities of Syrian families in Jordan. This longitudinal study provided valuable insights into the challenges faced by these families, focusing on their access to education, living standards, and the broader vulnerabilities of children, women, and youth.
Mindset was responsible for collecting data from a panel of 1,500 Syrian families across six waves. This included conducting home visits, managing 30 focus group discussions, preparing data collection scripts, and ensuring consistency throughout the data collection process. Over the course of three waves, Mindset surveyed more than 5,000 households, managing the panel throughout the study, and ensuring accurate and reliable data collection and analysis. Furthermore, Mindset contributed to the design and implementation of a multistage cluster survey that was representative at the national level and participated in all aspects of the process, including sampling, recruiting and training enumerators, piloting, data collection, and data cleaning. Mindset also contributed to the data analysis using basic tabulation techniques to interpret the findings and provide actionable insights.
The results from this project were critical in informing UNICEF’s strategies and programs aimed at improving the well-being of vulnerable families and children in Jordan, shaping policies that better address their needs and challenges.
