Data Collection for a UC Berkeley Study on Enumerators' Work Benefits

Mindset supported UC Berkeley in conducting a study aimed at understanding the preferences of field researchers, particularly focusing on work benefits such as childcare and transportation services. The study specifically examined the needs of women enumerators, exploring how certain amenities could impact their productivity.

Mindset facilitated the data collection process by providing access to a network of enumerators, conducted phone surveys with 1,800 enumerators, and carried out eight in-depth interviews. The results of this study helped inform the client on how offering benefits like transportation, childcare, and a monthly salary could improve enumerator productivity. Furthermore, the findings provided valuable insights that supported Mindset’s HR strategies and offered a deeper understanding of the working conditions of field researchers in the international development and humanitarian aid sectors in Jordan.
